06 Mar NOLA Itinerary #4
: : : : : : : : : : DAY FOUR
They let us sleep in this morning. After all, it’s Saturday in the Big Easy.
At 10:15 we jump right into an entrepreneurship discussion at Launch Pad, New Orleans’ innovative collaborative work spaces. I’d love to work in an environment like this. The place just crawls with new ideas, night and day.
You can rent either a 9am-5pm desk or a 24/7 a desk, or, if you’re hot – a private office. All you need is a laptop because they provide WiFi, phones, conference rooms, printing, free coffee – plus a gym with showers for those fool entrepreneurs who work 24/7. They offer daily yoga classes to ease the nerves, plus you can park your bike or Vespa for free.
I see that they do BarCamps. I did my first a few years back – it was a blast. I spent the night with 99 men, yep, 99 of ’em in an office building in Atlanta. I’ll explain later. My mother may be reading this.
Oh, here come the crawfish. A boil at lunchtime, in Audubon Park under The Tree of Life. How cool! Legend says this tree was planted as a wedding gift for the bride of a New Orleans plantation owner many years ago. Just imagine, 70-75 degrees, under a massive oak tree, eatin’ crawfish, in the Big Easy. I may NEVER come home.
We have the whole afternoon to roam, sleep, or primp for the big finale:
We’ve been invited to dine in the home of a Grammy Award-winning jazz trumpeter . . . Who? You’ll have to read my blog to find out.
Tomorrow morning, DAY FIVE, we have an exit interview and the whole day to ourselves this great city! It’s going to be a great trip.

Posted at 23:13h, 16 MarchLisa, sent an email (got your address from Shannon) but thought this might reach you as well. So glad you are here and enjoying your time in New Orleans! The program sounds fabulous! If you are here beyond Saturday, I hope to see lots of you. If you head home this weekend, I may have to walk over to the Park or to Terrence Blanchard’s house . (I live nearby. If it’s Irving Mayfield, I would have to drive and crash the party).
Hope to get a chance to see you and hear about all the fascinating people and places you’ve encountered!
(Sorry, I am not new media-savvy. Didn’t realize I had to post this to communicate with you. Oh well.)
