DAY SIXTEEN

What’s that saying?  “A friend is someone who will bail you out of jail, but your best friend is the one sitting next to you saying, ‘Damn, that was fun!’ “

Well, that’s the type friend I have in Annie G. I was walking down Broadway in broad daylight, minding my own business, when she grabs me by the arm, shoves a $1 bill in my hand and says, “Go over there and let me get your picture.” Before I knew it I had my hand on the FAMOUS** Naked Cowboy‘s behind and the rest is history. The jails are quite nice in NY.

Once we got out we attended a nice Sunday evening mass at St. John’s Lutheran . . . all done in Jazz ~ really incredible singer. Take a minute to listen to it. I must have been a southern Louisianan in a former life. I love their music, their Cajun food, and especially their architecture, so this service was right up my alley.

Finished off a fabulous day playing tourist with a huge Italian meal of Linguini Puttanesca (black olives, capers and anchovies in a marinara sauce). Of course accompanied with a glass of red wine. I have enough leftovers to eat for a week. I love that about Italians. They always send you home with food.

Oh, forgot about touring the M&M store and throwing a fit because I couldn’t take home this limited edition M&M Bomber jacket. $10,000 would have bought me one . . . such a deal. (remember, you can double click these photos and see the detail)

** After reading the Naked Cowboy’s bio, I reflected back at Frank Sinatra singing, “if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!” His website claims he’s been in Times Square every day for the last ten years and poses for over 8,000 photos per hour. Count the dollars he must make! He is now certified by the State of New York to marry couples. This guy’s a hoot!

    Love your hand placement!
That cowboy certainly doesn’t spend much on clothes. Wonder what he wears in the winter. But perhaps he can afford to winter in Palm Beach!

Lisa, if I had an extra 10 grand laying around, you’d have that jacket for your birthday.
    Don’t hold your breath…

Me? I’m thinkin’ more of the Naked Cowboy…we saw him in NY when my sister and her kids were with me but I’m sure we didn’t know that for just $1 we could have a “smoochy” photo taken. Although her ultra-cool kids would have died of embarressment. Not that that would have stopped us!
