My Home in NY

This is a great apartment. Couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. It’s about 900 square feet, which is really big for NY. The building was built in 1880s so it has that wonderful old charm. The floor is old 8-9″ wide pine planks, two fireplaces, and is beautifully decorated in ‘just my taste.’ I have 4 rooms: a big living area with 2 fireplaces, a small office where I keep my maps all laid out, a bedroom and a bath. Huge windows and in the back is a garden with lots of greenery. I’m on the second story so last night I opened my windows and got a really nice breeze . . .woke up to the sound of birds this morning. I can be at the Hudson river in 5 minutes.

This is a peek inside:

I’m on the second floor…atop a lot of stairs!

And last but not least, this is the first thing to greet me when I arrived.

I miss my wiener dog, Frank.

A floor mat with a dachshund on it! Reminds me of home and Frank!

So there you go. This is where I’ll call home for the next 28 days.
